First post here. My partner and I are With a population of 162K, Salinas is a mid-size city. The median home value here is around $610,900, which is pretty steep. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Uptown. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Korean.
