Is Salinas worth it salary-wise?

Random thought, There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Atlanta about 5 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is average and there's always something going on.
