OK so I'm a 41-year-old nurse and Median household income is $89,150, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,923/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $610,900, which is pretty steep. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Any advice would be great. TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The housing market is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in The Heights for 14 years. Moved from Austin for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
retail is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is tough - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Not very walkable outside downtown. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great BBQ places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
