Quick question about Salisbury

Hey, Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $1,737 for rent here. Median household income is $93,052, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $441,500, which is pretty steep. Household incomes average around $93,052 in Salisbury. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Any advice would be great. TIA! It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2019 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in East. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for family and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cost of living is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 11 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
