Cost of living reality check -Salisbury

Curious what people think. With a population of 35,730, Salisbury is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Salisbury sits at 735.0 per 100K. The median home value here is around $215,200, which is actually reasonable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Appreciate any input. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Came here for work and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 4 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
