Moving to Salisbury for work -advice?

OK so Crime rate is something to consider -Salisbury sits at 26.2 per 100K. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Does this match your experience? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Sunset area are underrated. Kids love it here.

I've lived in Riverside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- The job market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much manageable but now it's decent.
