Unpopular opinion about Salix

With a population of 1,339, Salix is a small town. Household incomes average around $64,333 in Salix. It's a a small town city with about 1,339 people. The median home value here is around $145,100, which is actually reasonable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great sushi places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Phoenix about 5 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
