Been meaning to ask this. Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this?

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
