Freelancing from Sammamish -experience?

First post here. I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider -Sammamish sits at 34.4 per 100K. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Minneapolis it's decent.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 24, moved here 1 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in Uptown and East, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Road conditions need improvement
3. The dating scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for couples. challenging vibes, walkable.
- East: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much competitive but now it's surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The pet-friendliness is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
