Working remotely from Sammamish

I'm a 50-year-old physical therapist and Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $227,273 in Sammamish. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Came here for weather and stayed because it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in North for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- The traffic scene is decent

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Dallas it's surprisingly good.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The public transit is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Meadowbrook area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in East. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for school and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The school system is honestly excellent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
