Planning a move to San Antonio comunidad (Dorado Municipio) -neighborhoods?

Hey, You can expect to pay around $499 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 10 years. Moved from Nashville for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Chain restaurants dominate. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..
