The good and bad of living in San Antonio comunidad (Dorado Municipio)

Hey everyone, We're a young couple and Median household income is $23,757, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 31.7%, which is higher than I expected. The unemployment rate is 5.6%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $499 for rent here. Homes are going for about $130,000 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Poor road conditions
- Chain restaurants dominate
Any help is appreciated. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Fairview for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The cost of living scene is decent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much affordable but now it's surprisingly good.
