Is San Antonio getting better or worse?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Poverty rate is 13.2%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,258/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
