Curious what people think. Born and raised here. With a population of 222K, San Bernardino is a mid-size city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What would you do? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 9 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great seafood places. it was the best decision I ever made.
