Is San Bernardino walkable?

Hey, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $384,900 on average. Rent is about $1,433/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,433 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Would love some local perspective. Thanks for reading. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Charlotte about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
