San Buenaventura (Ventura) quality of life -am I missing something?
OK so I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $2,101 for rent here. Median household income is $100,407, which feels pretty solid for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. TIA! Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 8 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
