San Buenaventura (Ventura) quality of life -am I missing something?

Hey, I'm a 23-year-old HR manager and Median household income is $100,407, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $778,700 on average. With a population of 110K, San Buenaventura (Ventura) is a mid-size city. Crime rate is something to consider -San Buenaventura (Ventura) sits at 433.0 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in North for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The housing market scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.
