Planning a move to San Carlos -neighborhoods?

First post here. Poverty rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Is this normal for San Carlos? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to New York it's hit or miss.

I'm a data analyst and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
