Best neighborhoods to rent in San Diego Country Estates?

Longtime lurker here, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $715,000, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider -San Diego Country Estates sits at 140.6 per 100K. Median household income is $134,639, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've lived in Old Town for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The pet-friendliness scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Oak Park for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The safety scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to Portland it's solid.
