Is San Dimas worth moving to in 2026?

Hey folks, We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 6 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Uptown area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

I've lived in North for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Affordable housing options
- The cost of living scene is tough

The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been here 12 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Tampa about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
