How is San Fernando for outdoor activities?

Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 23,716 people. Poverty rate is 8.5%, which is pretty low. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
