Curious what people think. I work in automotive and Average temperature is around 67--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $79,694 in San Fernando. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Any advice would be great.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (South) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely improving and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Riverside) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great farm-to-table places. it exceeded my expectations.
