Should I move to San Fernando or stay in New York?

Been meaning to ask this. I relocated for work and Rent is about $1,690/month for a decent place. Median household income is $79,694, which feels about average for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What neighborhoods would you suggest?

I work in hospitality here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. Hope this helps!.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 7 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is improving - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Limited shopping options. And food scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
