Is San Francisco still affordable?

Alright, Been living here since 2011. Median household income is $141,446, which feels pretty solid for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Worth the trade-offs? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for family and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
