Longtime lurker here, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $78,281 in San Jacinto. Poverty rate is 12.3%, which is around average. It's a a smaller city city with about 54,756 people. Rent is about $1,633/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What are your go-to spots? TIA! The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
