Hey, Poverty rate is 12.3%, which is around average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Good luck with whatever you decide..
