The good and bad of living in San Jacinto

Hi all, I'm retired and Rent is about $1,633/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,633 for rent here. Median household income is $78,281, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 12.3%, which is around average. The median home value here is around $391,600, which seems about average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Low crime in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Anyone in a similar situation? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.
