Grocery stores in San Juan Capistrano -recommendations?
Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What do you all think? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in education here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is average. Good luck with whatever you decide..
