Should I move to San Juan Capistrano or stay in Baltimore?

I'm retired and The median home value here is around $929,700, which is pretty steep. With a population of 34,998, San Juan Capistrano is a smaller city. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Tampa about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Dallas about 13 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in retail here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is improving. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
