Is San Juan zona urbana good for remote workers?

Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. Homes are going for about $174,000 on average. Average temperature is around 80°F, so it's warm year-round. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 52, moved here 4 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Westside and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The healthcare situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 5 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
