San Leandro job market vs Dallas

We're a young couple and With a population of 88,531, San Leandro is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $2,115 for rent here. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much affordable but now it's pretty good.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in North. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Tampa it's surprisingly good.
