Worst things about living in San Leandro

Look, I love San Leandro, but let's be real about the downsides:

Public transit needs work
Limited nightlife
Crime in certain neighborhoods is a real concern

Don't get me wrong, it's still a great place overall. But people should know what they're getting into.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

I work in education and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 3 months.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

I've lived in Northside for 15 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Totally agree with this. I've been here 10 years and my experience is very similar.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Don't sleep on Maple Heights. It's up and coming and still affordable.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Lakewood. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

If you can afford it, Maple Heights is the best place to live. Period.

Coming from Seattle, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are about the same.

Check out the Riverside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

I've lived in Cedar Hills for 14 years and it's a hidden gem honestly.
