Been meaning to ask this. I'm a teacher here and It's a a smaller city city with about 35,998 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community vibe is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
