San Marcos in the winter -how bad?

First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a smaller city city with about 68,920 people. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $51,030 in San Marcos. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
