San Mateo in the winter -how bad?

Longtime lurker here, Just moved here 12 months ago and Homes are going for about $1,563,200 on average. Household incomes average around $152,669 in San Mateo. It's a a mid-size city city with about 104K people. Crime rate is something to consider -San Mateo sits at 250.9 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to LA it's underrated.
