San Mateo quality of life -am I missing something?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 8 months ago and With a population of 104K, San Mateo is a mid-size city. Household incomes average around $152,669 in San Mateo. Rent is about $3,079/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in construction. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in legal. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Hope this helps!.
