Best areas to explore in San Ramon?

I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,916/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for San Ramon? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (West) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
