Top 5 things I love about San Ramon

Random thought, I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $2,916 for rent here. Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Houston about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Thai.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Sunset for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The dating scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in education. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
