Just moved to Sanatoga, any tips?

Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 10 years and Median household income is $86,624, which feels pretty solid for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Thanks in advance! Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much established but now it's tough.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Phoenix it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 13 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The community vibe is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 11 years. Moved from New York for my partner's job. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have desert landscapes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Dating scene is rough. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
