Hey folks, Homes are going for about $128,100 on average. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in Riverside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The cultural scene scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Fairview) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Cedar Grove area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Eastside. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in construction. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in finance. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Asian.
Definitely worth checking out..
