Why I chose Sandpoint over bigger cities
First post here. I'm a remote worker and The unemployment rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $449,500, which is pretty steep. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
