Remote worker thinking about Sandy

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. With a population of 12,738, Sandy is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The job market scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.
