Cheapest neighborhoods in Sandy Springs?

Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $583,900, which is pretty steep. It's a a mid-size city city with about 107K people. Crime rate is something to consider -Sandy Springs sits at 129.1 per 100K. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Am I overthinking this? Any help is appreciated. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want healthcare, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Nashville, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
