Sandy Springs job market vs Phoenix

Hey everyone, It's a a mid-size city city with about 107K people. You can expect to pay around $1,789 for rent here. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (The Heights) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
