Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 4 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a accountant and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Fairview area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from LA about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
