First post here. Been living here since 2008. Rent is about $1,728/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Used to live on the North side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.
