Most overrated things about Sanford

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a 45-year-old project manager and The median home value here is around $272,900, which seems about average. Rent is about $1,496/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Sanford sits at 816.8 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 62,292 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Sunset) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
