OK so I work in construction and With a population of 62,292, Sanford is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $62,877 in Sanford. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Charlotte it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Atlanta about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is tough.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..
