Housing in Sanger compared to Chicago

Hey, Rent is about $1,131/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $74,428 in Sanger. The unemployment rate is 5.6%, which is about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Sanger sits at 613.1 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,515 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Good schools
- Diverse community
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 10 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
