Job market in Sans Souci for tech?

Rent is about $948/month for a decent place. What are your go-to spots?

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Southern.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The community vibe is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2023 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 43, moved here 1 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in West and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Homeless population growing downtown
3. The pet-friendliness situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for couples. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
